One of the many pleasures in life is food. I love buying it, preparing it, cooking it, and perhaps most of all, eating it. The first thing I did when I arrived at Barbican was hunt for food and found a great salad bar at the Barbican Centre. My favourite way to eat is picking lots of different things so a salad bar was perfect. It was very fresh and had a great range of flavours and textures. Unlike a lot of salad s that are served as sides, this one was packed with protein and fibre so was substantial and filling without being heavy. The walnut and courgette soup added some nice heat to the meal (and was surprisingly tasty) and I topped it all off with a slice of dark chocolate cherry cake (vegan). Truth be told, I already knew I was going to be scoffing that down before I arrived. I've had it before and it blew my socks off. So moist, spongey, and luxurious. I highly recommend hitting up the cake counter if you're in the area.
It was a particularly warm day in London and I needed my thirst to be quenched. When I'm feeling overheated and dry-mouthed, one of my favourite ways to rehydrate is with coconut water. I grabbed the last peach and mango Vita Coco, poured it over ice, and felt immediately refreshed.
